Help NetWork, the TLF Exhibition!

I am one of the artists included in 'Net Work: the TLF exhibition’ curated by Amanda van Gils to be hosted at the Art Gallery of Ballarat. Net Work is an exhibition of 38 artists who are members of an online forum for professional artists, The Littlest Forum (TLF), which was formed in 2008 to facilitate opportunities for artists to connect and learn from each other irrespective of their physical location.

Net Work is significant in terms of opportunity to those involved and also in it's size and scope. It will be the feature exhibition at the Art Gallery of Ballarat during December 2010/January 2011, opening on Saturday 11th of December and will include over 100 works of art including painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, video, drawing, installation and other mediums.

Exhibitions like this are not only important for our development as artists but also as a way of sharing a broad range of contemporary art with the community. The work selected for Net Work is diverse and will appeal to a broad range of tastes.

Each participating artist is making a personal contribution toward the costs of the exhibition and the Art Gallery of Ballarat are covering some of the presentation expenses involved, however the time and cost of staging an exhibition of this size is considerable.

We Are hoping to raise funds to assist with the cost of transporting the art works from Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia and across Victoria to Ballarat for the exhibition and with producing a catalogue to document the exhibition.

The Australia Business Arts Foundation (AbaF) has accepted our application for inclusion in their Australia Cultural Fund to enable supporters to make tax deductible donations.

I would like to invite you to come on board as a supporter of Net Work: the TLF exhibition by making a tax deductible donation to the Australia Cultural Fund, operated by the Australia Business Arts Foundation (AbaF). I have outlined some key points regarding the scheme below.

How does it work?

The Australia Cultural Fund was established to encourage people to donate to the arts and to enable artists, to benefit from this generosity. All donations are made to the Australia Business Arts Foundation which then considers donor preferences when allocating grants. In the past six years more than $6 million has been donated to AbaF and granted in full to more than 300 artists and cultural organisations – it is a great program for projects like ours.

So, by making a donation, you not only get to support our exhibition, but you also get a tax deductible receipt for your gift. You can donate as little or as much as you would like.

You can also go to the AbaF website for more information www.abaf.org.au/donate or download a donation form here.

For more info on the exhibition see the dedicated website here (http://www.networkexhibition.com), where sponsors and donors will be acknowledged.

Alternatively you can support the exhibition through FundBreak. Not Tax deductable but there are great rewards based on level of support.

Lethbridge 10000 Small Scale art Award - Qld

I submitted this 2007 work, one of my favourites, to the first Lethbridge 10000 Small Scale art Award and am happy it was selected. Having been exhibited several times, including the Highly Commended award in the 2007 Waverley Art Prize, Punchbowl Chrysler (30x30 oil on board) might finally find a home!
