I had theses 3 paintings (30cm x 30 oil on board) accepted for the Churchie national emerging art exhibition which is very exciting, so off to Paul Warren in Randwick for some emergency framing. As usual he's done a great job, picking up work from the framer is like opening xmas presents, always a thrill to see them first time like that, here's what I had done, hanging in my hallway.

ReplyDeleteThank you ARTP. I'd love to head up but will be just too hard. I'm moving house soon among other things. Selected artists get one free ticket to opening night which valued at $30 so I imagine it's a bit of a do. I'm giving my one to Sue Beyer rather than having it go to waste.

ReplyDeleteWhat kind of framing is that called Simon? I really really like it! Does it cost much to get them framed like that?
ReplyDeleteHey Lauren. Not sure what it's called, but it would be described as flush framing which some shows disqualify. I'm painting on board so it's more complicated because a stretcher type frame is made first from pine, then the moulding is attatched to that and the plyboard glued on. If you see the Archibalds (down there now?) it is the same as Lucy Culliton's frames.
